Dr. Pat Adcock

 

 Education includes:

  • BSE (1972) Southern Arkansas University (Math Education and Physics)    

                                  

Dr. Adcock has served 22 years as an administrator in the capacity of principal and superintendent. He has classroom experience at Magnolia, Horatio, Gillam, and Mineral Springs School District. He has taught both math and science at the secondary level. Dr. Adcock has taught administrative classes as an adjunct professor for Arkansas State University and has also taught math classes for the Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas. His past activities and affiliations include: past President of the Southwest Arkansas School Masters; past Board of Directors of the DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperative and a certified trainer for the Jenson Learning Cooperation. In addition, Dr. Adcock received distinguished leader recognition from the Arkansas Leadership Academy. He is currently a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Association for School Curriculum and Design. Dr. Adcock has successfully worked with schools across the states in the area of leadership, professional development, and school improvement. He continues to assist schools and move them from academic distress to not only meeting adequate yearly progress, but establishing professional learning communities in order to make lasting changes.

Lynne Risner, MSE - Literacy Specialist

Education includes:

  • MSE (1996) Henderson State University (K-12 Reading Specialist)
  • BSE (1992) Henderson State University (Elementary Education, K-8 Science, K-8 Social Studies) Additional Certifications: K-12 English as Second Language.

Mrs. Risner has classroom experience at Horatio School District and the Mineral Springs School District. She taught grades 1-3 at Horatio and 7th-8th grade reading at Mineral Springs. Mrs. Risner served as the Literacy Coach at the Mineral Springs School District under the Reading First (formerly Reading Excellence) program for four years. Mrs. Risner served as the literacy specialist for the Arkansas DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperative (DMEC) for four years. During her employment at the DMEC she became a Reading Recovery Advocate, a trainer for Early Literacy Learning in Arkansas (ELLA), Effective Literacy for Grades 2-4, and attended the English as a Second Language (ESL) Academy. She has served as an adjunct professor for both Henderson State University and Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas and a student intern advisor for Henderson State University. Mrs. Risner has extensive experience working with schools through professional development and the school improvement process. Mrs. Risner is currently a member of the National Council for Teachers of English and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Design.

Russ Johnson, Ed.S

Education includes:

  • Ed.S. (2008) Henderson State University Division of Educational Leadership (Educational Specialist Degree) (Elementary Principal Licensure / K-12 Curriculum)

  • BSE (1980) University of Central Arkansas (Physical Education / English)

Mr. Johnson has served three years as federal program coordinator where his responsibilities include supervising / monitoring all federal programs (assurances, budgets, evaluation), serving as the district chair for the school improvement plans. He has served as a principal for seven years and an assistant principal for one year. Mrs. Johnson has over 12 years teaching English at the secondary level, has taught physical education across the grade levels and served as a coach for girls basketball teams. In addition, he has served as an adjunct professor for the Cossatot Community College University of Arkansas and Souther Arkansas University. Mr. Johnson was selected to represent DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperative on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals (2001-2004) and to represent the DeQueen Mena zone as trainer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Educational Technology Initiative. He was recognized as principal of one of the highest performing elementary schools with the Measuring Performance Honors award in 2003 (based on state assessments). He is currently active at the state level in the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators, Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals, and Arkansas Association of Curriculum and Instruction Administrators.

Dr. Dick Young

Education includes:

Dr. Young served as a High School Principal and School District Superintendent with over 28 years of experience. As principal of Arkansas High School he redesigned the school with the implementation of four Magnet Academies; Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts, Math and Science Academy, Career and Technology Education Academy and the International Baccalaureate Academy. While superintendent of a school District in the Arkansas Delta with a diverse population, he implemented the Career Academies in Technology, Agriculture Science, Health and Human Services and Business Technology in order to connect the students to the curriculum by integrating the academics to profession they were familiar with. With these experiences he is able to offer a wide range of solutions associated with challenges today's schools face in a complicated global social and economic world.

Beverly Long, MSE Minimize

Mrs. Long began her career in Bastrop, Louisiana, where she taught first, third, and fourth grades. In addition she has taught first and fourth grades fro the Grady School District. Her love of reading led her to focus on literacy, and seh has nine years of experience in literacy instruction. She has served as the district literacy specialist (grades K-12) for the Watson Chapel School District; the Reading Excellence literacy coach (grade 1-3) for the Grady School District; and as the instrucitonal specialist (grades 6-8) for the Lee County School District. During her employment at the Watson Chapel School District, she was a trainer for Early Literacy Learning in Arkansas (ELLA), Effective Literacy, and Smart Step: Stratigies for the Content Area. She also provided assessment training such as Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS), the Development Reading Assessment (DRA), and the Developmental Spelling Assessment (DSA). She was instrumental in helping Watson Chapel School District procure a one million dollar Reading First grant. Mrs. Long was selected to receive the Administrator for Reading award from the Jefferson County Reading Council in 2008. She also achieved National Board Certification that year Mrs. Long has worked part-time from 2006-2010 as an assessor and grant writer for ECS. She began full time employment with the company in 2010. Currently, she works with various schools in the area leadership, professional development, and school improvement.

Brenda Sikes Minimize

Our office manager, Brenda Sikes has been working with Educators Consulting Services for the last eight years.

Frankie Darr Minimize

Frankie is our human resources manager. She has been with Educators Consulting Services for eight years. Frankie has worked with the Mineral Springs School District for more than 25 years.

Lacy Youngblood Minimize

Lacy has worked with Educators Consulting Services for the last two years as a part-time employee while attending college at Henderson State University. She maintains ECS's technology team, social networking and our Educators Consulting website.
